Design Only and Design/Build

All designs start with a consultation to discuss your landscape options with a professional landscape designer and horticulturalist, a computer-drawn landscape plan plus a detailed plant list. The designer will discuss your personal preferences; functional requirements and budget, then will walk through a tentative design with you on-site. Design/Build includes cost estimate. Designs are drawn in scale format. With each design you have the option of a simple black and white drawing, colour rendering or having photos of available plant pictures inserted for easy reference. Many avid gardeners and do-it-yourselfers prefer the Design Only service that sets them on the right course. Design/Build is for homeowners who prefer to rely on HP Designer Services expertise to handle plantings and installations including:

  • Residential entrance and backyard gardens
  • Decorative plantings for country estates or condos
  • Fences, decks and patios
  • Interlocking stone, retaining walls, ponds and water features
  • Small or large tree plantings
  • Poolscape and entertainment areas.

Landscape Consultation

Some homeowners just need to talk to an expert. A landscape consultation is a hands-on meeting with a professional landscape designer and horticulturalist at your home, usually lasting 60 minutes. It’s a chance for homeowners to ask questions and take notes about such topics as:

  • Custom landscape design
  • Pruning and maintenance
  • Lawn problems
  • Plant identification
  • Seasonal suggestions and winterization strategies

Cost

All landscape design services are $90.00 per hour with a minimum charge of $75.00. Time will be quoted in advance.

Installation and material charges are dependant upon design.

Fred Post, CLD Landscape Manager / Designer HP Garden Gallery Designer Services

As a Certified Landscape Designer (CLD), Fred Post brings more than 30 years landscaping experience to his spectacular designs. After graduating from Sheridan College with a Certificate in Environmental Horticultural in 1979, Fred began designing landscapes in 1985. He has since added to his credentials with a Certificate from the Ministry of Skills as a Horticulturist / Landscaper / Greenskeeper in 1989 and accreditation from Landscape Ontario in 2002 as a Certified Landscape Designer. Fred works closely with a wide range of clients to understand their needs and to provide them with beautiful spaces they can enjoy.
